How to Take Care of Goldendoodle Puppies

There are a lot of decisions to make before your new puppy arrives at your home. Starting your preparations early will allow you to enjoy your puppy’s company more. Here are some tips on daily exercise, crate training, and feeding. Then you can spend more time playing with your Goldendoodle.

Daily Exercise

Daily exercise for Mini Goldendoodle puppies is essential for their physical and mental health. Not getting enough exercise can lead to problems with the heart, digestive system, and joints. It can also make genetic conditions worse. However, too much exercise can wear on the joints and thinning of the cartilage around the joints. This can lead to arthritis in your Goldendoodle.

If you need more clarification about the amount of daily exercise for Goldendoodle puppies, consult your veterinarian. They will have specific guidelines and can give you tips for strengthening your dog’s muscles. Always supervise your Goldendoodle while exercising and stop if they begin to feel pain. The Goldendoodle breed has a unique personality and needs individualized exercise plans.

Goldendoodles love playing fetch, tug of war, and jogging. But make sure you do not overdo it – jumping up and down stairs is dangerous for developing bones. Instead, play with your puppy using age-appropriate toys and socializing with other puppies.

When bathing Goldendoodle puppies, ensure the temperature is not too hot or too cold. It should be a comfortable temperature for your puppy to relax. You can give him or her a treat while bathing to keep him or her calm. You can use a mild conditioner and cream rinse to help keep your puppy’s coat clean and fresh.

When bathing your puppy, remember that water can be frightening for a puppy. A rubber mat or towel under the sink can help make the puppy more comfortable. Wet your puppy with warm water using a plastic cup, but do not let the water reach their mouth and nose. Use a tearless shampoo.

It would help if you bathed your Goldendoodle at least once a month. If you do not wash your dog regularly, the oil will build up and irritate your dog’s skin. This can cause skin lesions or sores. Too much shampoo can also strip your Goldendoodle of its natural oils and cause dry, flaky skin.

Crate Training

Goldendoodle puppies are smart, but they can suffer from separation anxiety. Crate training is a great way to help your puppy deal with this problem. It will help your puppy become accustomed to its new environment. You can try giving your puppy treats before putting them in their crate. You can then gradually increase the time you leave them in the crate. After five minutes, you should be able to leave your puppy in its crate without waking them.

The first step in crate training is teaching your puppy to sit inside its crate. You can use a verbal cue like ‘crate up’ to help your puppy learn to stay in its crate. They will stay inside the crate until you tell them to come out. Another important cue to help train your puppy is to praise and reward your puppy when they enter and leave the crate.

Crate training is easier than it may seem. However, it would help if you remembered to go at your dog’s pace. If you rush them, they may get scared and become resistant to crate training.
